hello all, just a little message to say hi... i returned from hols last week and went straight back into the show aswell as rehearsing for the ' When joseph met maria' christmas special which we recorded yesterday. I'm now feeling all christmassy and hope you are feeling the christmas spirit too... it's all very exciting and as my day in the hills comes to an end there is much to be excited about in the pipeline... watch this space ...
let me know if anyone was able to be in the live audience of the christmas special... if so, lets not divulge too much inside info as it will be a lovely christmas suprise for everyone else!!! So pleased to hear some of you were able to get tickets for my final show in the sound of music. it will be a very emotional night and i hope many of you can be there to share it. To answer a few questions ... yes I definitely will be leaving via the stage door that night and yes there will be a little after show party which my best friend back home is organising.... although it's supposed to be a suprise!!
I hope you all saw the press release about my next role... i'm going to do tv debut as the main character in a programme called "Caught in a Trap" As the title suggests it is about a girl obsessed with Elvis! My character is a parking meter attendant who steals the mony from the meters to fuel her obsession and fund her elvis memoribilia collection which she hides in her loft. She ends up spending half a million pounds of the council's money, but will she get caught?... you'll just have to watch it!It's based on a true story and will be aired around autumn next year...
Also some very exciting news is that i'm going to be a part of andrew lloyd webber's 60th birthday celebration tour...the tour will be across the uk and i believe tickets are being advertised already....would love to meet you guys at that stage door too! will let you know all the goss here first...
loadsa maria love,
Connie

Hi Connie, I sent you a letter today, to say thank you for stopping to meet us on Saturday at the Palladium and asked you, if you had time, to do another newsletter here! I suspect that it's just a coincidence, as you probably get too many letters to read them all!! Hope you had a great holiday, can't wait for the Maria/Joseph show. Your other projects sound great too! Wishing you lots of Christmas cheer. Will be there on the 23rd Feb, no doubt with a big box of hankies!! Thanks again, and here's hoping next year will be just as successful for you, you deserve it so much.

My friend and I love the show and we have tickets in row A in the stalls for Connies last night on 23rd Feb.We are also huge Michael Ball fans but sadly could not go to see our two favorites together in Wales earlier in the year.Saw it on the TV though!!! Hey Connie!
I was lucky enough to be in the audience last Sunday for "When Joseph met Maria." you wouldn't believe the trouble we had to go through to get in... It was very sad, because most of the audience were John Barrowman fans. Me and my friend were the only two Maria fans, and we only JUST got in! We were put on standby first... Only 37 people were let in, and another 20 were put on standby. We were GUTTED, but SO happy when we did get to the studio! It was an amazing show, and worth coming over for (I'm from Holland). Well, I'll probably come see you one more time in January. Good luck! ~Yael Re: jingle bells...

It was my 3rd time seeing you and I loved it just as much as the previous two visits. You're fab and I'm so glad you didn't give up on your dream. I'll be there when you are on your tour next year! Hi Connie
I was lucky enough to be in the audience last Sunday when you recorded "When Joseph Met Maria". It was absolutely fantastic and I can't wait to see the show on Christmas Day. What an incredible atmosphere there was in the studio, and I have no doubt that everybody who watches on Christmas Day will be in for a real treat. I was thrilled to meet both your mum and your nan in the BBC cafe before the recording, when my friend and I had a lovely chat with them, and your mum was telling us a little about your next TV project. What lovely family you have. I have seen Sound of Music three times now and hope to see it again before you finish your run in February - I have become a very big Connie fan! A very Happy Christmas to you and your family. Warmest best wishes Angela Re: jingle bells...

Connie Connie Connie! It was a great pleasure to meet you last night, (Dec 21st) on my 21st Birthday, especially since we are of similar age. Seeing your success in life, I now feel even more motivated to work hard and reach my dreams. Ok, that sounds really soppy lol, I think I will stop now! Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening and thanks for the personalised programme/Birthday card! Loving it!
Good luck with all your future work, it sounds very exciting, and I'm looking forward to seeing you either in Southampton (if it doesn't clash with uni exams, fun!) or Bristol (home). And perhaps I should get all my friends, (well maybe not ALL of them lol) to come and see your final performance in Feb, because quite frankly everyone goes to see what you do best!!! Well, have a HAPPY HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!! Take care, Alexandra Arrol xxx Re: The Sound of Music

Hi Connie
I travelled up from Manchester on Thursday to see your show and thought it was fantastic! My mum (a massive fan of TSOM) took me to see it for Christmas and I loved it so much I can't stop singing to your C.D. I really wanted to get your autograph after the show but I didn't know where stage door was then I found it the next day when we went sight seeing I was gutted! Hopefully me and my boyfriend are going back up to London to see your show and hopefully if I can get to stage door would you be able to sign my program? Faye xxx Re: jingle bells...

Hi Connie,
Here I am in South Africa so far away from all the action but thrilled to receive yr newsletters at least. It is just wonderful to hear of your success, which of course, you so deserve. Since watching "How do you solve ......" and subsequently flying to London to see you in SOM, I feel so privileged to have met you. Through your website, I have two e-mail buddies who also try to keep me abreast of all your "news". I received from one of them "Connie's Story" which was just such a treat. She also sent me some of the Diana Concert - you are truly awesome, so incredibly talented and a beautiful person. I must admit, I feel so envious of everyone in the UK, freely able to see you on TV and other shows. If it were at all possible, I would travel to the UK to see every one of your shows/appearances. It doesn't look like my tap group is going to be able to get to London before SOM ends but we remain ever hopeful. I wish you all the very best for 2008 and for all your new ventures - you will go from strength to strength I know. I so look forward to meeting up with you again in the future. Maybe something in S.A. sometime? Lots of love and hugs, Carol Cross. PS. Does anyone have a recording of "When Maria met Joseph" or any of Connie's other appearances? Re: jingle bells...

Hi Connie,
My mom, my daughter (Alexa) & myself came down from Birmingham to see you in SOM on Thursday night (10/1/08). We loved the show so much & you were amazing! And you absolutely made our night when you signed our stuff and I got a lovely photo of you & Alexa! Thank you so much, I know you must have been exhausted but you were charming as always! We got home late last tonight & I found this site & just hope you get my message. By the way, we'll definitely come and see you in Birmingham! Congratulations on a wonderful show! Good luck in ALL you do! Much happiness & keep on SHINING! :o) Hope to see you again soon Jennie xxx Re: jingle bells...
FROM YOUR FORUM BUDDIES.
Connie we really need your help! When you are not too busy could you please try and translate Cilfan y Coed for all the people on the forum. It sounds such a beautiful song we are desperate to know what it means! I am not much help, my Welsh is not as good as it used to be and I asked Iggy and it seems both of us are as bad as each other when it comes to Welsh! Hi Connie we came down from Birmingham to see you in the show on 12th Jan and what a treat it was. We all had a fantastic time and the day was capped off when we had the chance to meet you afterwards. It really was a great end to a perfect day. We came along with Val Hastings and I asked her to pass on our thanks but I thought I'd do it here too. We've got tickets for your tour date in Birmingham in June and are looking forward to seeing you sing again. Good luck for the last few weeks of the show and the preparation for the tour. Thanks again for taking the time to meet with us.

Hey Connie,
Eventually mananged to get down to London to see the show before you finished. It was fantastic! Loved the really natural performance you bring to the part. You seem to really enjoy it - even though it must be very hard work! My Mum actually thought you were better than Julie Andrews - a great compliment indeed!! I'm sure you will be very successfull in your new projects and everything you turn your hand to! I'd love to see the tour - is there a show in Edinburgh? Love Jen X X Re: Re: jingle bells...

We spent our honeymoon in London just to visit your show on Feb 2nd and it was fabulous. We have been fans from the very first Maria show (we followed it religiously from the Netherlands) and wanted to see you in live action. We are so happy that we were able to experience your performance.
The whole show was fantastic but your performance was the icing on the cake. Thank you for making our honeymoon unforgettable! Diana & Martijn (p.s.) Take care of your right ankle. Re: Our favourite thing

Hello there Connie
It's Allan and Ruth here just to say we have joined the blog as you invited us to last week after the show. We are the two with the homemade "Fisher Mania 08" Tshirts you signed for us. We are in the process of editing a small video we have made about Fisher Mania 08, the docudrama is based upon us travelling from Glasgow, seeing the sights, meeting you and the general pilgrimage to the Sound of Music, before your run came to an end. We shall let you know when the video is complete, I have a feeling it will be gold. Anyhow we hope you enjoy your last few shows and just to reitterate how amazing your portrayal of Maria was. Thanking you for making Fisher Mania 08, the amazing trip it was Yours Allan and Ruth (uber Fisher fans) Re: Re: jingle bells...

Anyone know?

We are told that the concerts have been cancelled because of poor tickets sale.Given that the people who were promoting these concerts still had 3months to go and they were NEVER promoted in the press lots of people who would most possibly have gone did not even know these concerts were on.I live 50miles from my nearest venue which was Oxford for which i had front row seats so nobody in my area would have known Connie was on tour unless they were amongst my group of Friends. So i blame the promoters Really useful Group and Phil McIntyre for letting Connie down.I hope they will make amends at a future date.Hopefully A concert might be arranger for the Cadogan Hall in London with Connie if and when i hear i will put it up on this site.I am absolutely gutted as many of Connies fans are so |Connie herself must be very disapointed. We her fans who love her to bits will continue to support her in every way we can.So to all those who are going to the SOM on the 23rd lets show her how much we support by showing our appreciation of her great talent on this night. So as Connie would say ITS ONWARDS AND UPWARDS

Hi Connie,
Just want to say a big THANK YOU! for signing my program and c.d cover as well as having a picture taken with me at stage door, valentines night. I've seen TSOM twice now and enjoyed it both times. You're a truly talented star who will go far in theatre and I just want to say how much of an inspiration you are to every wannabe leading lady. Seeing you perform makes us climb every mountain until we find out dream and the show will be lost without you come 23rd Feb. I've heard you're coming up to Manchester for your concert in June. See you at stage door! all the best, Faye x Re: jingle bells...

Hi Connie
I just received my notification from Nottingham Symphony Hall asking me to return my tickets as the concert in June is cancelled. Needless to say we are very disappointed. Perhaps you could take time to give us your take on the tour cancellation? We haven't heard from you in a while now! I shall be there to see you on Saturday in your final performance, my third visit to S.o.m. which isn't bad considering I'm in my 60's and had only ever been to the London theatre once in my life before you shot to stardom on my teli! I've even managed to see Les Mis and plan more trips in the future. I am sure there are many others whom you have introduced to the West End in a similar way. Long may your success continue, you will have my support! Cheers Joan Re: jingle bells...

So sorry to hear about the Uk tour cancellation and of concerts at Cadogan Hall Connie, you must be absolutely gutted, fingers crossed for the Sunday concert for you at CH.
So looking forward to this Saturday, but also feeling sad for you at the moment with it being your last night and the above events. There will be so many of us there supporting you on Saturday night, I hope that that will be of some consolation to you. We are all thinking of and supporting you 100% Connie, you are absolutley fabulous. Love & best wishes Lara xx As Carol says "Onwards & Upwards" for you! Re: TOUR CANCELLED!

Hi Connie
I went to book tickets to see you in concert today and was told you've cancelled the tour due to other commitments. I'm disappointed I can't see you but thrilled at the same time because I know it means you've been offered more work which I can't wait to see! 5 days to go till 'your days in the hills come to an end' :( no other leading lady playing Maria will be a patch on you, you're fantastic!. I'm at an audition in London on Friday so I'm going to wait at stage door again hoping to see you before the performance. I hope i'm lucky enough to see you if not I wish you all the luck for the final show and good wishes in everything you do. You're such an inspiraton to me and I now have no doubts in following my dreams until they come true. Thank You Connie xxx Re: jingle bells...
